Jarlath O’Neil-Dunne

Jarlath O’Neil-Dunne is a Research Scientist with Spatial Informatics Group and is a faculty member at the University of Vermont where he directs the Spatial Analysis Laboratory. He received his undergraduate degree in Forestry from the University of New Hampshire and his graduate degree in Water Resources from the University of Vermont. He also holds certificates in Hyperspectral Data Exploitation and GIS Operations from the National Geospatial Intelligence College. He is internationally recognized for his expertise is developing methods to automatically extract features from high-resolution remotely sensed data. Jarlath has been awarded the eCognition Black Belt by Nobel Laureate Gerd Binnig, the Excellence in Science and Technology Award from the USDA Forest Service Northern Research Station, the Vermont Spatial Data Partnership Award, and the New York GIS Partnership Award. He is a former officer in the United States Marine Corps where he served in East Africa, the Middle East, and East Asia.
