Daniel Marc G. dela Torre, PhD

Daniel dela Torre specializes in remote sensing for environmental monitoring, with experience using machine learning, cloud computing, and time series analysis. He holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Auckland, focusing on mapping climate change impacts on rice yields with Google Earth Engine. He was a Manaaki New Zealand doctoral scholar. Daniel received his BS in Biology and MS in Environmental Science from the University of the Philippines. Prior to joining SIG, he was the geospatial lead for a tech startup in New Zealand that pioneered subsurface digital twin technology. His previous roles include agriculture and drought monitoring research using multi-source imagery at the University of the Philippines, and consultancy engagements with organizations like the Philippine Department of Agriculture, UN-WFP, and Fauna and Flora International.
