SIG provided expertise on carbon sequestration in Austrian state forests and was responsible for the conceptual design of the indicators related to the Ecosystem Service “Carbon sequestration and storage”. Relevant inputs included carbon life cycle assessment parameters, Development (changes) of carbon storage of the Austrian Federal Forest Enterprise (ÖBf); Changes in pool of wooden products based on wood products by ÖBf; and the calculation of the substitution-effect of wood and wooden products from ÖBf: energetic use of wooden biomass, wooden products made by wood from ÖBf-managed forests.
