Geospatial and Feasibility Analyst and a Field/UAV Assistant, Environmental Mapping

Travis Freed is a Geospatial and Feasibility Analyst and a Field/UAV Assistant with the Environmental Mapping Team at Spatial Informatics Group. He is a forest ecologist who specializes in GIS, remote sensing, data collection, and study design.

Travis has over a decade of experience designing and executing research-grade field data collection. Prior to joining SIG, he worked with the US Forest Service’s Pacific Northwest Research Station to collect and analyze data related to fuel consumption in prescribed burns. He has also studied the effects of sudden oak death on fuel loading and fire hazard.

Travis holds a master’s in Ecology from UC Berkeley and a bachelor’s in Geography from UC Santa Barbara.
