Ryan DeMilt is a research scientist specializing in applied deep learning techniques. Ryan earned his Masters in Computer Science at The Ohio State University where he studied a broad variety of machine learning and deep learning techniques, performing research on representation methods for time series data analysis and out of distribution generalization. During his masters he also received a fellowship for training in conducting interdisciplinary research on problems of environmental sustainability and power systems, through OSU’s EmPOWERment program. Through this he gained experience in conducting research alongside industry partners and working as a data scientist at American Electric Power. His current research interests are in the emerging applications of deep learning methods to critical weather and climate problems and the ways these models can be leveraged to meet challenging sustainability goals.
