Nick Miley

Project Management Lead and Outreach Coordinator, Natural Hazards

Nick Miley is a project manager and environmental scientist at Spatial Informatics Group, where he leads efforts in forest resilience research and community wildfire mitigation planning. Drawing on a diverse background in dendrochronology, forestry, science communication, and STEM education, Nick works at the intersection of advanced analytics and on-the-ground planning. He specializes in applying SIG’s cutting-edge technologies—such as remote sensing, spatial modeling, and decision-support tools—to practical projects that support climate-adaptive land management and community protection.

Nick earned his M.S. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Nevada, Reno, where he studied plant ecophysiology and dendroclimatology. Outside of work, Nick can usually be found in the Sierra backcountry—on skis, bike, rope, or with a fly rod in hand. He lives on the south shore of Lake Tahoe.
