
| Mason Willman is a Software Developer with Spatial Informatics Group (SIG) in partnership with the Missoula Fire Sciences Laboratory. While continuing his work at the lab, Mason will bring his experience in software development, fire science, and wind modeling to SIG’s Natural Hazard’s Team.
At the Missoula Fire Sciences Laboratory, Mason leads the GUI redesign for Windninja, an open-source wind modeling desktop application. His work has involved collaborating with a student capstone team on initial development, the implementation of a C API to expose model functionality, and designing new GUI class structures. He managed NinjaStorm, an Apache HTTP server, where he has integrated and streamlined CI/CD pipelines for hosted applications. Mason has also contributed across various software related projects, providing on-site server and network support, ensuring smooth laboratory operations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the Pennsylvania State University. |
