Software Engineer II

Gonzalo Crivelli is a Software Engineer II at Spatial Informatics Group with over seven
years of experience in geospatial software development. Proficient in Python, SQL,
JavaScript, and GIS technologies, Gonzalo has developed impactful geospatial
projects, such as a web-based geodatabase for gold and copper mines worldwide at
Canary Systems Inc., optimized SQL databases for Sabre Gold Mines Corp., and
Python and augmented reality (AR) tools for field geolocation at First Majestic Silver
Corp. He has also modeled the Biscayne Aquifer’s flow in the Everglades using Python
at a Miami-based Sedimentology & Stratigraphy Lab, and enhanced the fidelity of a FL
phosphate geodatabase with the FL Department of Education.

Gonzalo is completing his Master of Science in Computer Science at Arizona State
University (ASU), specializing in AI and database systems. He also holds a Master of
Science in Geoscience from Florida International University (FIU), with a focus on
remote sensing and geospatial development. He completed his Bachelor’s in
Geoscience and Computer Science at Amherst College in western Massachussetts.

Outside of work, Gonzalo has explored 49 U.S. states and their national parks, and he
enjoys studying Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, and German. You’ll often find him
experimenting with a new coding language, tinkering on his car or home, or out on a
hiking trail.
