Ian Moore

Ian is a Fire Ecologist and Co-Director of the Natural Hazards team. He has over a decade of experience in forestry and wildfire, having completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Forestry at UC Berkeley and worked for several years on wildland fire crews with the Forest Service before joining SIG. Ian manages and assists projects around California covering wildfire preparedness, wildfire recovery, as well as forest and community resilience while always looking for new opportunities for SIG to help landowners meet their goals. He is experienced in data collection and analysis, environmental compliance, and GIS but never misses a chance to be in the field. Ian’s passion for the natural world is driven by all the time he spends outside and his understanding of natural processes has been built from both schooling and experiencing them firsthand.
