Gary is a forest ecologist with over 12 years’ experience in natural resource management, applied forest ecology, research- grade data collection, and sampling design. He has held positions as a forester and a research associate at the University of California Berkeley, Wildland Fire Science Laboratory and the U.S. Forest Service, Pacific Southwest Research Station. Mr. Roller received both his MS in forestry science and BS in forestry and natural resource management from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. His research interests focus on applied forest ecology and fire behavior modeling, and he is co-author of several publications in these disciplines. Gary is a California Registered Professional Forester (#2899) and has held instructor positions in silviculture, dendrology, and forest mensuration.
