Liz Luck has a bachelor of science in environmental management and protection from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a minor in geographic information systems (GIS). During undergrad, she worked as a GIS intern, an intern at an environmental consulting firm, and worked as a research assistant with CAL FIRE. Through her work at CAL FIRE she assessed fuels reduction treatments completed in California for their ability to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through analysis using Forest Vegetation Simulator, R Studio, and IFTDSS. Liz Luck received a master in Environmental Science and Management at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo completing a research project on vineyard soil emissions with different compost applications. In her professional career, she worked with Ascent Environmental, creating carbon inventories for cities and counties in California, writing climate actions plans, and creating a framework for Fire Adapted Communities.
