Valentin Waeselynck

Valentin Waeselynck started programming at the age of 14, because he wanted to simulate living ecosystems on his computer. He’s been passionate about mathematics since childhood, and studied general engineering and Computer Science at the Ecole Polytechnique. As a programmer, he has specialized mostly in growing modern data-intensive systems; he also enjoys technical pedagogy, and has volunteered those skills for various climate-related initiatives such as The Shift Project and ecolog10.org. He hopes to work where he can make the most difference for protecting the environment, at the crossroads of science and software engineering.
