Thomas DeVera

Thomas DeVera graduated from the University of California Davis with a Biological Systems Engineering degree with Minors in Forestry and German. After early mechanical engineering work in the aerospace, architecture, and engineering domain, he transitioned into Software Engineering and has not looked back. Over the last 16 years, he has been primarily responsible for developing systems level applications that integrate various business to business processes, tying in frontend, backend, and data tier levels. More recently, he has capitalized on his solid core of production oriented software design and deployment to bridge the traditional software engineering practice with the data science practice of statistical modeling and analysis, distributed compute, and geospatial analysis. He continues to expand his proficiencies in verbal and computational linguistics to find novel ways to integrate each new skillset.
