Juan Caamaño

Juan has a MSc degree in Forestry Engineer (2003) from the University of Madrid, Spain. He has work as a Helitack Crew Boss and Prescribe Burn Boss for the Spanish Ministry of Environment, from 2003 to 2006. From 2006 to 2009 he started working as a Fire Manager Officer for the Andalucía government, leading and implementing the Fire Management Program. As an instructor in Wildland Fire Operations and Prescribed Burning he has given many courses all over Europe. In 2010 he started working in Fire Department of Generalitat de Catalunya in the GRAF team as Fire Behavior Analyst and since 2012 he’s has worked in the forest service of Castilla La Mancha as Air Operation Supervisor and Fire Behavior Analyst. Juan is the Founder of Pau Costa Foundation on Fire Ecology and Fire Management, he is responsible for the training area.

Juan had the opportunity to acquire extensive knowledge and international experience on Fire Operations and Fire Land Management attending to the Fire Management Program with the USDA Forest Service at Wallawa-Whitman National Forest in Oregon, the National Interagency Prescribed Training Center in Florida, through the intermediate and advance ICS course held in Neilspruit, South Africa, and the Prescribed Fire training exchange organized by The Nature Conservancy in Iowa.
