Daleen is an urban planner and designer based in Los Angeles, CA with a background in international development. She has been consulting as an urban planning and design specialist for the past 5 years, contributing her skills to large scale projects such as the California High Speed Rail, New York City’s General Plan Update, and the New International Airport for Mexico City among others. Daleen received her M.S. in urban planning from Columbia University’s GSAPP in 2013 where she sharpened skills in data story telling; fusing GIS mapping and design to create compelling visuals that adequately represent the social, physical, and political context of urban spaces. Daleen’s project work focused on affordable housing, community development, connectivity and urban re-use projects in New York City, Rio de Janeiro and the West Bank. Currently, Daleen consults in urbanism and digital analysis for both urban and rural communities. She also develops creative programming that advances the understanding our city’s ecologies and radically addresses the social and political dimensions of the built environment.
