Andrea McMahon, PhD

Andrea is a research scientist with a background in geography and landscape ecology. Her main experience lies in analyzing optical satellite imagery to map land cover and land cover change. In the past, she worked on projects utilizing satellite data to monitor deforestation and forest degradation in Myanmar, and to assess environmental risk factors for mosquito borne diseases.

Dr. McMahon holds a PhD in Geography and Environmental Sustainability from the University of Oklahoma. She received a M.Sc in Global Change Ecology and a B.Sc in Geography from the University of Bayreuth, Germany.
