In coordination with the El Dorado County Resource Conservation District, CAL FIRE proposes to undertake fuels treatments in an area of El Dorado County lying generally between Sly Park and Highway 50. The goal of this analysis is to provide quantitative estimates of the potential greenhouse gas emissions reduction and sequestration (in terms of carbon dioxide equivalent, measured in metric tons – MTCO2e) that could result from implementing the proposed project. The quantitative estimates are derived from comparing the emissions reductions and carbon sequestration resulting from the project compared to those resulting from a baseline scenario, or no implementation of the project.
